Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Vanilla Nightmare is one of the few Vampire Dragons to be permitted to live on Dragon Isle. Her and her two siblings were raised by the hatchery staff from tiny hatchlings; Kelasia decided that they could stay, so long as they didn't cause any trouble.

Vanilla Nightmare is a sweet dragon that loves to sing. She gets along fairly well with Dragon Isle's residents (at least, most of the time). Many of the nocturnal residents enjoy her songs and lullabies that echo through the night.

Vanilla is normally cool and collected, and often very wise. She sometimes speaks in riddles and foreign tongues.

When she isn't singing or taking part in the community, she is often found tending to the isle's gardens. She substitutes dragon blood with fruit rich with iron and vitamins, and small prey animals.

Overall, Vanilla Nightmare has proved herself to be quite an extraordinary Vampire Dragon.
