Harvest Dragons are a large, flightless breed most often found in heavily forested mountains. Normally shy, these omnivorous dragons keep to themselves in remote regions, but in the fall they descend from their high territory to search for food—and lots of it. During the autumn months, harvest dragons will eat whatever they can find, from large and small animals to nuts and fruit. In the winter they retreat into large caves and hibernate until spring, living off the fat they have built up.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

New Radicals, or simply Raddy, is a young Harvest dragon. Known for always cheering up and reassuring other dragons and humans whenever they're feeling sad, it's nearly impossible to still be unhappy after talking to him. Even as a hatchling, when his owner was sad about missing all of the rare eggs and hatchlings in the abandoned cave, he came to cheer her up and went back to her cave to live. He has gotten his name from his radical ideas about things, such as his idea on how the universe was created "because 42". "42" is usually his answer to any question anyone asks him, stating that "42 is the answer to life, the universe, and everything." He currently has no specified mate.
