White Dragons are pacifists and specialize in extremely strong healing magic. The only limit of this magic is that it can’t bring back the dead. They only eat plants and never kill living things.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Officially, Mera Asklepian is at the Goldenmage Assembly to treat the minor injuries to which magi trainees are prone.  True, she does teach the occasional class in healing to Goldenmage Assembly trainees, but it's natural that she'd want to lighten her workload by teaching dragons how to heal themselves.  Unofficially, of course, Mera is the second non-magi member of the Goldenmage Assembly, if one can even be considered unofficial with the support of both Tynef and Dahoi.  Given the flurry over quiet Berenay, the first non-magi member, Tynef judged it wise to wait before making Mera an official member.  Mera is no Berenay—she's blunt, loud, forceful, and will give orders to anyone and expect them to be obeyed.  Any patient who doesn't follow her directions will be subjected to her decidedly sharp tongue.  Mera is one of the most skilled healers alive, and so has no shortage of white dragons seeking to learn from her, despite her faults.
