Aspects of Soul have a deep understanding of emotion and display strong empathy towards all living things. They can sense the emotions of others and have the power to subtly influence those emotions, which they use to help calm those in distress, embolden those who are uncertain, or frighten those who have crossed them. It is said that they can traverse the barrier between the living and the dead. They always seem to know when another is nearing the end of their time and have often been seen beside those ready to move on, easing their discomfort and giving them a sense of calm in their final moments. When the creature finally passes, the Aspect of Soul mysteriously vanishes.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
