Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

No one really knows why altera named this dragon what she did. Some dragons speculate that it was because she ran out of ideas. Others say that the dragon was purple, and frozen. The actual reason that Purpley Coldy is named that, is because Purpley is a really cool word, and so is Coldy. So, if you put them together, you get a really cool dragon. That was the logic that led altera to her decision. Sadly, it was not true. Purpley Coldy is really just boring, and no one pays attention to her. (Well, we don't know what her gender is, but altera says its a her, and altera is always right.) Anyway, naming aside, no one likes Purpley Coldy, she's just a goody two shoes, and no one likes those.
