Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Enlighten is a very knowledge little creature.  As a hatchling, he spent much of his time under the watchful eyes of the White dragons in the cave, and ended up being tutored once he had asked where eggs come from.  In particular, Snowless would ramble on about various subjects while he toddled after him, listening.  Eventually, his observations paid off, and he, too, tries to spread his knowledge of the world.  When a fellow cavemate asks him 'YRU SO SMALL' he smiles and replies "It's not the my size, it's what's up here that counts" as he taps his temple thoughtfully.  Then he proceeds to berate them for their horrible grammar.
