Nocturne Dragons are a strange breed. Whenever light strikes their bodies, they are frozen in whatever position they were in. This leaves them vulnerable and they rely on camouflage to keep themselves safe. They are often mistaken for statues when in this frozen state, but Nocturne dragons do not actually turn into stone. Rather, they merely idle until the sun goes down. At night, these dragons come to life, proving themselves to be powerful fliers, although little else is known about their true behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lynzn has a crush on a dragon, whose name he hardly dares admit to himself, much less here where she might read it. They met at a great gathering of dragons far away from both their homes. He made many friends there, but only one he feels this way about. She is the first dragon he, like, LIKE likes. They had a lot in common, and she was a joy to talk to, though he often couldn't think of what to say. They were good friends, though Lynzn has no idea if she feels as he does. And they live so far apart from each other, and maybe she's just friendly to be polite, and it probably wouldn't go anywhere anyway. So he never told her about it, unwilling to risk their friendship for an uncertainty. After the gathering, they both went back to their respective homes, an ocean and then some between them. He has not seen her since. He may never see her again.
