Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.
Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.
User Description
Lyflu is afflicted by a terrible curse. Once he played too close to a practising young Avatar of Change and he somehow caused Lyflu to become as intelligent as a dragon.
Still stuck in the body of a simple drake and looked upon as nothing more than a pretty pet by dragons and humans alike, unable to communicate the fact that he can easily solve complicated equations and knows the answer to almost every riddle without much thought, he has become more and more frustrated over the years. Any attempt at communication through Wijaa's board or scribbles in the sand are viewed upon as funny little tricks and the most it has ever earned him were some "treats". Surrounded by parents and a mate he knows to be nothing more than clever potatoes compared to him, Lyflu grows more and more aggravated, chirping his annoyance at passersby.
He just hopes he can find that dreaded Avatar again one day and return into the sweet oblivion of un-intelligence.
