Shallow Water Dragons are found in tropical regions where the water is warm. They use their magic to hunt, using bubbles to capture small fish and animals. Their large, webbed feet make them excellent swimmers and they are able to move at very high speeds. Due to their bright color, these dragons are easily spotted in the lagoons where they live.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ginylisa is a very fatherly dragon. His first child, a male the same breed of himself that was unnamed, often talked to others about how friendly his father was. Ginylisa only acts this way towards his own offspring, however, and will threaten any other hatchling that his not his. He is also the suspect of eating eighteen hatchlings by Silver Creek, his home. Most would guess that Ginylisa was extremely protective of his children, and they guessed correctly. One day Ginylisa's first son was drinking in his father's creek when all of the sudden, seven hungry Sunset Dragons attacked him. After hearing his son's cries and capturing the scent of blood, Ginylisa exploded from his hiding spot and dragged some of the Sunsets in the water, one by one. Four of the attacking Sunsets got away while the other three drowned in Ginylisa's furious rage. It is violent, but it's just the way this dragon is.
