Aria dragons are a brightly-colored and sprightly breed, perhaps most adored for their lyric calls. Their song-like melodies fill the areas they inhabit; their coos resemble those of birds, only more elegant and refined. They have fairly strong magical capabilities, but tend to reserve these strengths for last-minute defense, choosing to live their lives in simple peace. Arias, sticking to the tropics, typically live quite far from human settlements, giving rise to the previously held belief that they had gone extinct.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Iema Kami was one of the first dragons in Petunia Meadows, albeit not one of the favorites of her handler. She had a brief fling with dappledflight, resulting in a daughter. After the production of the daughter, dappledflight seemed to forget about Iema, taking on another mate. As other dragons began to arrive in the Meadows, Iema realized that her handler wasn't getting anymore of her kind. She felt shunned and unwanted. She went and hid in a hole somewhere on the Meadows. Unknown to her, Iema's handler had grown found of the little pink dragon and was hoping for the right dragon to come along. A silver dragon was snaking across the meadows when he nearly fell into a hole. He heard a hiss and realized there was a dragon there. It was a nasty brown, covered in all that mud. Ignoring its complaints he dragged it into the water and scrubbed it down. It was love at first sight. QuerkyRave decided to get her to love him as well. It worked, now Iema is once again her bright and happy self.
