Paper Dragons are not truly living creatures. They are pieces of parchment enchanted by magic, and as such, are very vulnerable to fire. However, they behave almost like dragons. The only place where their behavior differs is breeding: paper dragons cannot breed.

It was just a matter of time, really. Murphy had put off her Cultural Design semester project until the very last minute, and she stayed up all night meticulously recreating the Battle of Lashy Tongues in origami and papier mache. That same night, Abishai indulged rather more than he should have on Wafers of Enchantment. Ergo, when he sloshed awake the following morning -- a scant half hour before Murphy -- he exuded an odiferous magical fume. A very powerful magical fume, in fact. And when he wandered into the den with his morning caffeine-on-a-stick, he brushed past the edge of the diorama, and ... thus was Pyrophobia born. Pyrophobia is the newest resident of the cave, and no one is quite sure what to make of it. However, Mama Paz is pleased: her Murphy got full marks for the project. It was the only fully functional -- with flying vanguard! -- recreation of the famous dragon battle.
