Thunder Dragons are the masters of electricity. Their wings gather energy as they soar through the clouds, and when they clap their wings together they can create devastating arcs of lightning. They can stay airborne nearly indefinitely, landing only to sleep and breed; they catch their prey from the air and take moisture from the clouds. A thunder dragon’s roar is considered to be an omen of misfortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

"Cities rise. I close my eyes. I open them again. Those cities are in ruins."

Hrokkva has seen so much in her long life -- the rise of civilizations, epic wars, great disasters, heroic leaders. It has even been said that she saw the sun be born, and will be there when its fire finally dies. She claims nothing to these rumors, knowing that like everything around her, they will fade in time.

Dragons may be nearly immortal, but time has definitely taken its toll on old Hrokkva; she rarely stirs except to find a warmer spot to nap when the sun begins to set. But her mind is still quite firm, and she has no shortage of tales to tell the willing audience of clanmates that gather around her almost each day. Because when she speaks of what once was, it isn't with a heavy tone, but filled with wonder. She herself is as entranced by the past as they are, as it is the past that tells the future. Yes, cities fall. And then, from the ashes, new ones rise.
