Horse Dragons have equine-shaped bodies and hooves instead of claws, which allow them to be fast runners. They specialize in running takeoffs, which are quicker than taking off from a stand-still. Horse dragons are able to stalk their prey from the ground then quickly execute an aerial attack for the kill.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Though an adult, 'I wanted to be frozen' (or Frollo, as other dragons call him) acts like an overgrown hatchling, constantly getting into things and pestering the older dragons. Usually, this would never have presented a problem- hatchlings that show no sign of wanting to grow up were usually magicked into remaining eternally young. And more importantly, small. However, when the time came for his caretaker to do this spell, her magic failed. Reports of similar incidents came from other caves, and it was soon learned the King of the land had worked his own magic to prevent others from stopping the growth of too many hatchlings. Now Frollo is grown up and quite a nuisance, since a fully grown Horse dragon does a great deal more damage than a hatchling. Others in the cave can only hope his mind will one day catch up with his body, or they can find a way to make their valuables unbreakable. No one believes either will ever happen.
