Dark green dragons, once they mature, appear to become an entirely different species. However, this isn’t true. Rather, they burrow underground and get nutrients from their vines. These vines are sometimes referred to as Dragon Grass. These dragons are very violent, and will use their vines to capture, kill, and eat anything that moves, as well as nearby plants. Luckily, their range is limited and they cannot use magic. Dark green dragons tend to be easy to spot since they usually kill all plants around them and thus are usually surrounded by a large clearing.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Humming Hunter spends most his time under his dragon vines. He is unsociable and prefers not to talk to anyone. He only ever talks to Glory, Skunk, Emerald and Tiny and this is on rare occasions. Hunter feeds mostly from his vines though occasionally he will come outside to feed. His preferred diet is birds, especially humming birds, hence the name. He lives in burrows under his vines, reasonably far away from other dragons. It is said that Humming Hunter has an immense hoard of treasure in his burrows but no one has dared to check. He has a rather foul temper and hates it when someone touches his vines. When he has a conversation, the other dragon normally stands around ten paces away. Unusual for a Dark Green dragon, Hunter likes music and many can hear his wailing howl of a voice many miles away. He dreams of flying but can't because of his breed. He is jealous of flying dragons, especially Glory who is very good at flying and spends most of his time doing so.
