Storm Dragons are the masters of the skies. They are excellent fliers and land only to rest and eat. In addition, they have full control of the weather. They are very hot-tempered and easily angered. They will attack any human that bothers them, conjuring strong winds and dangerous lightning.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Haafin, patriarch of Sturmhorn, is one of the oldest, but also one of the most disliked leaders of The Hold. He's very egocentric, seeing others as inferior to him. He dislikes rogues and low-bloods, and pretty much anyone not of royal blood. Haafin is very aggressive towards other male leaders, and enjoys fighting with others.

He's very annoying, but one can hardly best him. The patriarch of Sturmhorn puts up quite the fight, and abuses his power. Rooshu and the leaders of the Stoneskin family, among some others, are the only ones with enough power to ruin his daily tyranny. Haafin is also one of the few leaders to be in a polygamous relationship, having two mates: Nephala and Griwolk.
