Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The family huddled together in the closet, the father holding onto the door tightly to prevent it from opening. They could hear the whiptail dragons scratching and pounding on the walls as they made their way along the street, trying to find a way into one of the houses. Suddenly, the noise was a little too close; the dragons were outside their own front door, sniffing around the frame.

The daughter began to cry and her mother began to hush and comfort her as quietly as she could. The father looked grim, wishing he had had time to grab a weapon before hiding. Then they heard the sound they feared the most, the sound of wood giving way and splintering, they were inside the house. The family were forced to listen to the sounds of their home being destroyed as the dragons searched for something to devour.

Then they heard the voice of the cave mistress calling for Usas and her mate. The two whiptails bounded away in glee, leaving the hiding family to sigh in relief at their lucky escape.
