Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lady Justice is the cold and reserved leader of Credo Lair. She was brought to the nearly deserted lair as an egg by her surrogate father, Sir Paladin, and his mate. They raised her to be a strong leader who will do whatever it takes to ensure the strength of her lair. By mating with Glashtin of the Clearwater Clan and Ripper of the Slashkill Pack, Lady Justice was able to bring Credo Lair back to its former glory. In exchange for her eggs, Glashtin and Ripper brought their fellow dragons to live at Credo Lair under Lady Justice's wings. Her mateship with Lord Bounce was intended to be temporary—only long enough to secure a lucrative trade deal with Rex Brood, a group that Lord Bounce has strong connections with—but she has come to be fond of the loud and boisterous dragon. Lady Justice fancies herself in love with him, embarrassing though his outbursts can be, and not even Sir Paladin has been able to change her mind.
