Two-Finned Blunas are a very social breed of dragon, living in packs of dragons called “pods.” Blunas are very curious and playful creatures and several dragons in a pod will often “play” with one other, chasing each other around, tossing seaweed back and forth, and riding ocean swells. They are occasionally seen swimming alongside whales and dolphins.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ocean is always cheerful, playful, and loves to hang out with and help humans. But he has to be careful, for his grandmother (whom he lives with, along with his father) Terror of the Water, despises humans. He also has to watch for his uncle Clear Pond Full of Fish, who has a grudge against Ocean, but Ocean doesn't know why. One of his human friends once found an abandoned shallow water dragon. Ocean named him Water Droplet that Sparkles, and brought him home. He never told his family where he found Droplet, and Droplet was accepted into the family. His only real dragon friend is his cousin, Waterfall Splash in Water.
