Neotropical Dragons are a breed that originate in rainforests. They are fun-loving and enjoy lounging on tree branches, eating whatever fruit they find. They are also often found sunning themselves on rocks, using their large wings to soak up the rays. In the summer, males compete for mates by showing off their striped wings and gliding in spirals down the tree trunks. It is said that the larger the wings, the more likely the male will attract a suitable mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Banana-and-a-half lives by the philosophy that anything worth doing is worth overdoing. He won't just steal one banana, he has to steal a whole hand—or even a whole stem. He won't just plant one banana herb, he'll plant acreage in solid bananas. He won't just annoy one tourists, he'll annoy ... well, he tries to annoy all the tourists, but during peak season there are far more tourists than one dragon can annoy, no matter how overzealous he is. He is annoyed at his inability to annoy all the tourists, and has been spending the past decade fixated on this goal. The problem is, more tourists keep coming! A lot of them leave, too, but he doesn't pay too much attention to them. Once, S3F1A the Banana Witch told him about how many tourists managed to come and go without being annoyed. Banana-and-a-half's head exploded. When Death Ogre healed him, be had no memory of S3F1A's factoid. Similar mind-blowing incidents have occurred several times since, which annoys Death Ogre to no end.
