Magma Dragons are capable of withstanding the intense temperatures of their element. They live in volcanic regions, their bodies coated in the red hot magma which clings to their scales. They must leave the lava fields in order to hunt, although they require surprisingly little food to sustain their lumbering mass.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Though many of her clanmates admire her poetic name, in reality, A Song of Fire and Gold constantly bemoans her moniker. Apparently, the source of her anguish arises from the fact that when gold becomes molten, it does not actually make any sound, much less a song. Furthermore, "fire" is apparently not befitting for a regal magma dragon. Yet her clanmates are often quick to point out that "A Song of Magma and Gold" is much less poetic, which only increases her agony that there does not appear to be any suitable name for her.
