Bright-Breasted Wyverns are a breed of dragon easily recognized by their bright red markings. They are a small breed, only the size of a full-grown man. However, they have developed poisonous barbs on their feet to make up for their size. Their coloration is used to warn off potential predators of the danger, and is also used to attract mates. They are very social, and can often be seen preening in large groups.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
In the dead of winter, a Bright-Breasted Wyvern egg was snatched from its wild mother's nest. The egg was kept somewhere safe and warm, so before long a plain little hatchling emerged from the crumbling eggshell. The following day, much to the infant dragon's horror and surprise, it was led to a large area full of unwanted eggs that stank of keepers' touches. Its own keeper left the hatchling there. One after another, keepers picked up the young Wyvern and looked her over... but they all set her back down and kept looking. The word 'Holly' passed through her young mind over and over again. The dragon wondered if she'd been left to die because she was not this 'Holly' thing she picked up from the masses of desperate keepers. All of a sudden, a pair of warm and steady hands snatched the little green hatchling from the pile. The dragonlet didn't understand the noises this keeper was making, but the feel of a human cheek snuggled against her chilled hide warmed her to the bone.
