Waterhorse Dragons received their name due to their horse-like physique and endearing behavior. They are capable of surviving out of water, and when on land their skin secretes a gelatinous goo to retain moisture. However, their large paddle feet are better suited for swimming, and waterhorse dragons tend to move very awkwardly when on land. Waterhorses are very friendly dragons and enjoy playing with humans.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Kelpie protects the rivers and streams running throughout the lands of Eternal Dawn. She is probably one of the best-known water spirits. This creature has an insatiable appetite for human attention: her most common guise is that of a beautiful tame horse standing by the rivers, a tempting ride for a weary traveler. Anybody foolish enough to mount the horse, perhaps a stranger unaware of the local traditions, would find himself with a chatty companion until leaving sight of water. Kelpie's gossip babbles on like an inconsolable brook. If the topic in conversation is not about someone else, then it will most be all about 'Kelpie.'
She is also known to warn of impending storms by wailing and howling, which would carry on through the tempest. The sound her tail makes as it submerges can be heard across the plateau and through the densest thicket. This association with thunder and storms may be related to the worship and adoration Kelpie so enjoys.
