Albino Dragons are so named because their translucent, scale-less skin lacks all pigment. Instead, to help protect their bodies from the sun, they are coated in an oily secretion that blocks the sun’s harmful rays. The call of an albino dragon is similar to a barn owl--a shriek instead of a roar.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A shy and gentle creature, this male leads a rugged life in the wilderness--and he knows it. His hunts have frequently led him to the outskirts of a wealthy village at the forest's edge, where he stares in awe at all the tamed and well-fed dragons living within. It was one of these in particular that caught his eye; a beautiful female albino, the pet of the town's very own lord. But what was at first sight a paradise soon began to show its true nature as a nightmare; the rich thrive on the suffering of the poor, living on an almost slave-based economy and inflicting horrible tortures on those peasants who fail to pay their taxes. Horrified at the sight of these miseries, he's determined to save the female albino before she is made to be like the other dragons of the rich--a tool with which to kill rebellious peasants. But she pays him no mind, turning up her snout at his pleas, and he's at a loss as for what to do...
