Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

FrilledSmile is an Frilled Dragon hatchling who is always getting into some sort of trouble. He has been best friends with AlbinoDreamer, an Albino Dragon hatchling, since they hatched. They were so close in almost every way, their eggs were laid on the same day, but they hatched within an hour of one another. And together, they get into a ton of mischief—far more than either would by themself. If some sort of prank is pulled off all of the adult dragons know which hatchlings to look for.
