Ochredrakes are a curious species with a wide array of mutations and interesting behaviors. Not as intelligent as normal dragons, they only breed with other drake species. While they may not be bright, ochredrakes are flamboyant and fun-loving with amazing, chirping voices to sing with, and tame readily in the presence of a gentle hand.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

It is almost sad how trusting Durnon is of others.  She is kind and has a bubbly personality, always trying to make others happy.  Unfortunately, she can be painfully dim-witted and slow on the uptake at times, and is often the subject of pity, ridicule, and practical jokes by the other dragons.  Skyle, especially, takes advantage of her guileless attitude, tricking her into doing many things.  She accomplishes this by telling Durnon lies, such as that the other dragons have been talking about how much they wished it would rain and suggesting that Durnon help them out by pouring large quantities of water on their heads.  Naturally, Durnon is always happy to oblige these dragons' wishes, never stopping to think about the unreliable source from which she heard them.
