Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Shadow Fyre was a feisty little dragon from the beginning. As a hatchling she would often get mad at another hatchling and would be seen chasing it from the scene spitting smoke at it. Her fiery temper led to her being treated cautiously and like more of a queen. When a certain Swallowtail dragon started strutting for her, she ignored him as an irritant. When he continued she tried to chase him from the area like the other dragons. Only now she was capable of breathing fire that she used to scare off unwanted annoyances. Yet the dragon continued to show off for her and she found herself becoming attached to the older dragon. Soon she became possessive and has been see scaring off the young females that are attracted to the Swallowtail. This works just fine for the Swallowtail as he finds that he only cares for the fire dragon female. This suits Shadow Fyre's preferences as she doesn't have to share the dragon.
