Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Starstruck Ipenia wishes that he was born a Nebula dragon. He loves to study the night sky, and sketches out maps on pieces of tree bark.

Most of the other dragons think that Starstruck is crazy; Dragons don't actually need maps to know where they are going, and only Nebula dragons use the stars!

Starstruck doesn't care though, he says that someday dragons will need maps, and then they will thank him. No one knows when that day will (if ever) come.

Starstruck doesn't get along very well with the rest of the frozen hatchlings (they say he is crazy) except for Little Khipper. Little Khipper agrees with Starstruck, saying that something called 'sailors' use maps of the stars too.
