Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It seems to bear some semblance to a horse.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

GracefulEquus is a Horse Dragon hatchling who loves company. Her parents, SilentEquus and GracefulRibbonDancer, are a little distracted by each other to really parent GracefulEquus. But GracefulEquus is a very resourceful hatchling, and she has plenty of adult role models in her life. She spends most of her time at the Dragon School of her cave, learning anything she is interested and spending time with the staff. Her two closest friends are BurningTree, the Red Dragon who founded the Dragon School, and WiseGuardian who teaches Self Defense. GracefulEquus also is friends with most of the teachers, but WiseGuardian and GracefulEquus have a special connection. She considers him her third Grandfather, and he considers her his prodigy.
