Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It seems to enjoy sunbathing.

And look! It has grown much bigger! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This dragon was a very playful and happy hatchling. She was well on her way to growing up, having just gendered. However, because losing her carefree nature and naivety was too painful to bear, the spell was cast to cease her aging forever. Kikkuth seems quite happy with this as she's never complained or expressed distress over her condition. Now she plays with the other hatchlings, never having to worry about growing up. Despite this, now and again she exhibits signs of loneliness, particularly between broods of hatchlings.
