And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Princess Maddie Zephyra is not a princess. She acts like one, though. Named after her father and mother, plus a girl dragon that lives in a forest far away, Maddie is a snobby little girl. She was treated like a princess because she was her parent's first born. Shes very mean, too, treating the other two frozen hatchlings like dirt. Her problem is the same. A spellman came and enchanted her, accidently making her be frozen in a hatchling state once she got her wings.
