Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It likes to chase fish in shallow water.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

SwimSaila doesn't really understand what it means to hunt yet. He loves to splash around loudly in tide pools, scaring any wildlife out of grabbing range. Making the little fish swim away from them as fast as they can always gets him laughing and he has tried to get other hatchlings to join him in scaring as many fish as possible, much to his mother's dismay. Though the hunting instinct isn't there quite yet, he still manages to beach a few fish now and then and will show off his 'catch' before sharing a meal with his Pink brother.
