Nocturne Dragons are a strange breed. Whenever light strikes their bodies, they are frozen in whatever position they were in. This leaves them vulnerable and they rely on camouflage to keep themselves safe. They are often mistaken for statues when in this frozen state, but Nocturne dragons do not actually turn into stone. Rather, they merely idle until the sun goes down. At night, these dragons come to life, proving themselves to be powerful fliers, although little else is known about their true behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Neyra is a strange Nocturne Dragon. She does hide herself almost all of the time before daybreak, and can usually be found lounging around in her favourite cave situated behind a large waterfall in the wilds, but occasionally, when a particularly silly mood strikes her, just before daybreak Neyra will position herself on the corner of a very sharp bend in a road-one that doesn't have too much footfall as she would then run the risk of being discovered and killed- so that when the unsuspecting traveler turns the corner, instead of seeing just an empty road they will come upon a very fearsome and scary looking 'statue' of a dragon, and will usually turn tail and flee, which amuses Neyra to no end. She has a tendency to fly to the highest point in her surroundings on a moonless night and watch the stars pass by. Neyra is a strong flyer and loves to race other Dragons or simply glide above the landscape, watching for any prey.
