Stone Dragons have a tough outer covering made of a stone-like material. They eat rocks, using the minerals they contain for nourishment and to keep up their stone outer shell. They rarely move, and are the heaviest of all types of dragons. Although they have wings, indicating flight ability, no one has ever seen a stone dragon flying.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Rockodon is a massive stone dragon, that was initially thought to be a small mountain. He was not small enough for the main cave, so he slept outside. This left him miserable, and the fact that he was considered a terrifying beast did not help much either. One day he was approached by the pygmy, Songzle. He thought it was his conscience speaking to him, for Rockodon could not see her. The voice offered to shrink him down to a more reasonable size, and, figuring he had nothing to lose, readily agreed. He was then made smaller by magic, and Rockodon was shocked to see it was a living dragon speaking to him after all. Rockodon was so grateful that he offered to protect Songzles life in times of crisis. To this day, he is the personal bodyguard of the pygmy monarch.
