Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Maystrike is a high-ranking member of a secret organization, S.W.O.R.D., which is short for Security Warden Order of Rescue Dragons, and whose members are dedicated to protecting their cave and all the innocent lives within it. A perfect example of her breed, this Black dragoness is the group's go-to fighter when a tough job needs to be done. Nicknamed "The Cavalry", many of the younger recruits look up to her, and despite her tough, seemingly emotionless exterior she has occasionally taken some of them under her wing. Most recently she's taken to looking out for a young Anagallis dragoness named Daisysky after her previous mentor turned against S.W.O.R.D. to join a more sinister organization called Kraken.
