Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s covered in very hot magma.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Wisp can exhale thick black smoke, which is strange for a hatchling at this stage in life. It loves to curl up near its tamer's forge where it can absorb a great amount of heat. Sometimes it will actually hide within the molten metal and surprise its tamer. It has been discourage from doing this, though, due to a rather nasty burn its tamer suffered after being surprised by the little hatchling springing out of the fire.
