Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its belly is bright red and it is most active in the evening.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Shima-Shima and Shimi-Shimi once thought about being a pair. A true one.  Adorably Purple was the result of this union.  The parents attempted to teach this hatchling to turn the duo into a trio.  To their dismay, Adorably Purple didn't share the talents of either parents, and very nearly forced the couple into retirement.  For now, they'll have to settle rearing this devil of a bundle of joy.
