Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Unlike the other hatchlings, this one hatched with wings.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

But a whisper on the great wind, this hatchling's home is the receding end of a gust of sea air. It twirls about behind its flockmates, appearing slow and clumsy, but somehow maintaining the older pair's speed and grace. When it lands to eat, it proves itself as simple intellectually as any other infant dragon would be, but in the air... In the air, it shows instinct and skill far greater than even the eldest wild skywings.
