Sunsong Amphipteres are an unusual breed. Due to light interference caused by their magical nature, they don’t seem to be affected by any ambient light source. However, when struck by direct sunlight, they shine a brilliant gold. They are playful and ever in flight; their ethereal and mysterious appearance and the fact that they are usually only seen at a distance have led many to believe they are a symbol of hope and good fortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The position of strategist may seem an odd one for a creature as excitable as a sunsong dragon, but this dragon manages it with the utmost precision. Channeling his energy not in frivolous flight, but in rigorous combat maneuvers and hours of playing out mock battle scenarios, his skill is as famous as is his unquenchable addiction to eating chocolate. However, the strength of his plans is about to be tested as it never has been before; a nameless shadow, a moving darkness that leaves death in its path, has headed straight towards her country--and his liege, Queen Helba, has ordered him to help stop it. It might take more than a candy bar to help calm his nerves along the way...

Not to mention there's another challenge he must overcome. Some fool scribe wrote his gender down wrong on the official papers, and now everyone who didn't already know him is convinced he's a lady! As annoying as this is, the worst part is hearing his beloved Queen Helba laughing about his mortification.
