Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Dark Taken is the guardian of the cave when his mistress is out and about. This particular dragon is quite protective of his mistress's hatchlings and keeps them inside the cave when she isn't around. When the mistress is in the cave, he usually acts as a personal guard for her and follows her everywhere unless told otherwise. The other dragons have long since taken note of this and tried to figure out the reason but soon abandoned the thoughts; a dragon shouldn't have to prod into one's family member's personal reasons.

Dark Taken worries of losing the mistress. He'd give his life for her. If she dies, he'd rage around without a clue how to live.

That...that isn't quite the best thing to see if it were to happen.
