Script Dragons are named for the markings along their wings and sides that look almost like calligraphy. The patterns correspond to no known language, and are slightly different on every dragon. These dragons only develop the characteristic markings when they reach maturity, and they are fairly capable with magic once the patterns appear.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Kwyno designed and built most of Prazal's Academy for Inconvenient Talents and Odd Specialties. Script architecture tends to all have a certain feel to it, and his is no exception. Passages twist and wind, doors only open onto the same room twice in a row if one is firm with them, and the whole school is far larger than it ought to be. The end result is pleasing, but confusing even to those who have been at the school for years. Rumor has it that there are passages that only Kwyno himself has ever seen. All of the major construction has been finished, but Kwyno keeps adding details, many of them enchanted to move, make noise, or change color.
