Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has shiny fish-like scales and loves water.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Shimmer Goldtail is on neither side in the war. Her dad, Champion Goldtail, was abandoned from his pack for being a gold shimmer scale dragon, when only royalty was allowed to be golden. Shimmers mom, Nova Silvertail, kept Champion a secret. When other dragons started to find out, they planned to abandon him. Nova recently gave birth to Shimmer, and since Shimmer was golden, Champion took Shimmer and ran away with her. Now, with the war between dragons with human masters and ones living in packs, Champion wants to betray his origin pack. He wants to find a human master so he can get revenge on the dragons who abandoned him. As for Shimmer, she would hate to fight against her clan and her mom. For all Champion knows, Nova Silvertail got banned for giving Shimmer to live in the wild with Champion. That was supposed to be for the pack leader to decide. Champion hopes that he never has to see Nova again because she might be mad at him. Their human master is named Sara and Shimmer is happy.
