Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It shrieks for food everytime you get close.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Cest was prevented from aging for a reason. She is tough, aggressive, and stubborn. The dangerous thing is that she has muscle to back up her vicious attitude. She likes to be the one in charge, and will lash out at anyone who points out a flaw in her work, or her behavior for that matter. Her friends have learned to tolerate this, but she rarely makes any new ones. Cest also has a soft side (though she would deny it if anyone asked her), and she is incredibly loyal to the dragons she cares about. Unfortunately, she doesn't care about many. As a complete opposite of loyalty, she also holds grudges, and can remain upset for months (years if the crime against her was bad enough). Any dragon would say that she is a cold-hearted little brat. Dragons that are close to her, though, suspect that she just doesn't want to seem weak because of her small size. Passing humans fear for their lives despite this, and cast a spell on her when she was young that prevented her from growing.
