Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

As her name implies, Jalapena is a dragon with a fiery personality and a love for the wicked hot brand of peppers that gave her her name. She can chug these like they're mild-flavored chicken poppers, and they give her a burst of energy not even caffeine can rival. On this superfuel she charges around all day, getting into fights, setting peasants on fire, and generally making a nuisance of herself. There's nothing she enjoys quite as much as beating the snot out of some stupid male dragon who think's he's better because he's bigger. But despite how spontaneous she is during the day, she's a very good sleeper, and will fall into a deep snooze the moment the sun goes below the horizon, regardless of where she is at the time. As a result, many buildings have been crushed by her giant body snuggling down on top of them for night-night time.
