Cheese Dragons are not actually alive. They are enchanted items of food that act almost identically to dragons. They have no need to eat, but they must “live” in humid environments or they will dry out and harden.

This dragon always said "moo" like cattle while he was growing up. After a several long days baffling his cavemates he explained that he was a cow so he should moo. Since that only added to the general confusion he clarified that since he was made of cheese, which was made of milk, which comes from cows, he is an honorary cow. Nobody has managed to change his strange way of thinking yet.
