Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Roanos is one of the highest ranking members of a pureblood vampire clan; One of the members of the council which is made up of 5 dragons. He is the eldest of the council members and is in charge of keeping order in the clan. He is basically the top of the council. He will judge any rules that have been broken and he seen as fair in his judgement. Due to his age, many of the clan members look up to him for wisdom. Roanos also keeps Nightfang under control to make sure he isn't killing recklessly. He is known for being calm, level headed, and very rarely senile but it does happen. Roanos's view of the "tainted" vampires is unclear but he usually ignores them and sometimes gives them a look as though he is looking down upon them. However, he will give advise to younger "tainted" vampires but this is rare.
