Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Black pulse is a very intelligent dragon. Since she was first out of the egg, she began to use magic; she tried many curses and spells, over and over again, just for fun. It was all fun and games until she zapped one of the other hatchlings with a lightning spell. She was punished severely, but that only made things worse. A few months later, Black pulse began to experiment again, only this time, she tested on herself. After a few spells, she ended up making herself a frozen hatchling. She then gave up on magic for a while and trained for battle, begging Shadowsofthepast to teach her how to fight, but he refused. She realized she had frozen herself at a weak age and state so she would never be the one to fight much. She quickly picked up her magic skills again and has become the most skilled dragon in the family when it comes to magic.
