Pink Dragons are primarily herbivores and only eat meat during the mating season, when mates will exchange kills. When it is not breeding season, pink dragons spend most of their time incubating eggs and caring for their clan’s young. Due to their feminine color, it was traditionally thought that pink dragons were a strictly female breed, but this is not true.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

To keep audiences entertained while full-length plays are being set up, Roaring Lion Productions offers a variety of short-form serials. One of the most popular involves the adventures of Ultragon, a heroic "guardian of nature" (actually a purple dragon in a rather unconvincing costume), his resourceful love interest, and an assortment of friends and villains.

Kikolik plays the love interest. At first, she existed mainly to scream and be rescued from the menace of the week, but as she—and audiences—began to grow bored with this, her role gradually developed into something more interesting. After a serial where she made the connection between Ultragon and his alter ego, Kikolik has gone on to (temporarily) develop powers, save the day, and even rescue Ultragon on a few occasions.
