Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Feeling Numb Shimmer has made countless visits to the Heal Sector and received some of the most powerful healing magic by Whites and Magis. No matter what spells are cast on this poor dragon, he still cannot feel a thing. Ever since he hatched, he has been unable feel any feeling on his scales. No matter how injured he becomes, he feels nothing. For this reason, he is not allowed to fight any battles for fear of dying from intense injuries.

He has never felt an embrace from his mate, Laughing Mary. He has never felt the wind on his wings. He has never felt the heat of the sun. He hopes some day that some powerful Magi or White will discover the cure for his problem.
