Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It likes to sleep in the sunshine, but it’s more active at night.

And look! Its wings have grown bigger, and it now has large stingers all over the newly split tips of its tail. It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Ketlu has one dream: to become an Albino dragoness when she grows up. After meeting Polgara, she knows that there really is no cooler, more beautiful, and all in all better species of dragon around (Ketlu really likes Polgara). She always practises the right way to twist her neck so that she will be prepared when the day finally comes when she loses all her pigments.
