Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Ever since it hatched, it has been hiding among the tree leaves.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This little Dragon was named after a native rain forest tree. He's a shy Hatchling, and spends most of his time hiding in the leaves of his favorite tree, keeping an eye on the going-ons around him. He doesn't have the biggest wings, or the brightest stripes, but once he gets to know you Quandong is sure to make you smile. He's a sweetheart, and very helpful. He also loves flowers, and spends his down time making little arrangements around his tree.
